| Brown Street Bridge |
Freeman Road Bridge |
Replacement of two structurally unsound and hydraulically inadequate single-span bridges with box culverts. The project also included hydrologic analysis of the Long Hill Brook (Brown Street Bridge) and Bible Rock Brook (Freeman Road Bridge) drainage areas. The SCS TR20 computer program was used to determine design flow rates and hydraulic analysis. HEC 2 was used to size the culvert and to make stream channel improvements.
The new culverts at each locations were twin 10' x 7' precast. concrete box culverts approximately 60 feet in length. The design included cast-in-place wingwalls.
Cardinal Engineering Associates was responsible for obtaining environmental permits and provided construction contract administration and resident engineering services for this project.
