Walnut, Court and South High Street Reconstruction - New Britain, CT

The reconstruction of South High Street, Court Street, and Walnut Street was a component of the Archway downtown revitalization and beautification project.

Cardinal Engineering provided survey and design services for this project, which involved the total reconstruction of 900 linear feet of roadway, installation of granite curbing, and concrete sidewalks.

The project also included condition assessment and upgrades of existing utilities.  Sanitary sewers were replaced where necessary. Hydrologic analysis and gutter-flow analysis were performed and additional drainage structures added to eliminate street flooding.

In addition, the underground telephone and electric power lines were extended to serve all of South High Street. The existing street lights were replaced with decorative lights.

Cardinal also performed  test pits, soil sampling, testing, and analysis, and pavement design. The existing pavement structure was completely reconstructed with new base and subbase.
